RE-ISSUED ON CD WITH 11 BONUS TRACKS. - Abscess hailed from Oakland California & started life in 1994. 'Horrorhammer' was the band’s debut release for Tyrant Syndicate Productions, the then sub-label of Peaceville, run by Nocturno Culto & Fenriz of Darkthrone. The Darkthrone duo had been long-time fans of both Abscess & Autopsy & thought that the band would suit the attitude & mentality of their Tyrant Syndicate label perfectly, so in early 2006 a deal was sealed & work swiftly began on the new album & seventh full-length release, 'Horrorhammer', a relentless injection of filth-ridden metal. - Half of the Abscess line-up, Chris Reifert & Danny Coralles, were longstanding members of gore metal kings, Autopsy. Chris also started his career in the 80's with the influential extreme metal band, Death. With the band line-up completed by Clint Bower & Joe Trevisano, 'Horrorhammer' was recorded in late June 2006 & features 12 tracks of high-octane punk-fuelled death. The opus was recorded by long time cohort Adam Munoz at Prairie Sun Studios, where Possessed recorded the classic 'Seven Churches' album. Front cover artwork came courtesy of US artist Dennis Dread (Darkthrone, Autopsy). - This new reissue edition of 'Horrorhammer' is presented on mid-price CD format, including 11 bonus tracks taken from a number of rare releases from the band’s catalogue & archive.
